“The king will answer them, ‘I can guarantee this truth: Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant they seemed you did for me.” Matthew 25:40 God’s Word Version. My father-in-law, Harry, has long been laid to rest. I’m convinced that when Jesus returns, Harry will be among those who are awakened from the sleep of death to meet King Jesus in the clouds and go home with Him.

Harry never joined the church. He was a good upright man who was honest in everything he did. He was kindhearted, helping others in times of need. He faithfully visited aged, ailing friends who needed some extra help from time to time. He had no time to waste on fretful, unkind, dishonest people.

Unfortunately some of these kinds of people were “in the church” which is why he probably never joined. They stood in the way of his seeing Jesus there.

Are we blocking the view of Jesus to others? Through our actions do we discourage people from seeing the hope and light of heaven in a connection to God? It’s often the little things we do or don’t do that block out the view of Jesus to someone standing in our path.

God forgive us for being a stumbling block! Help us, God, to be a stepping stone for others to find the clear picture of God!
